Building a National Biobank Ecosystem: Connecting People, Patients and Research
Dr. Giedrė Kvedaravičienė is Director of the Lithuanian Population and Rare Disorders’ Biobank at Vilnius University and a recognized expert in health innovation, personalized medicine, and translational research. With experience spanning academia, clinical practice, industry, and public policy, she has led initiatives advancing the implementation of innovative diagnostics and advanced therapies (including ATMPs) into healthcare systems. Dr. Kvedaravičienė combines scientific leadership with extensive expertise in stakeholder engagement, regulatory affairs, and international collaboration. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the European Partnership for Personalized Medicine (EP PerMed), is a Board Member of the Lithuanian Biobank Consortium (BBMRI-LT), and contributes to several European research and innovation initiatives focused on rare diseases, biobanking, health data, and precision medicine. Her work is dedicated to strengthening population-scale and rare disease research, accelerating early diagnosis, and enabling data-driven healthcare through national and international scientific partnerships.
